Broadcom Corporation , a global leader in semiconductors for wired and wireless communications, today announced that it is willing to grant royalty-free licenses to U.S. Patent No. 6,714,983 to state and local government agencies and private not-for-profit organizations to import cellular phones for use in public health, safety and emergency response applications.
