How comfy we are all in the United States, as we engage in living-room debates about the US occupation of Iraq, whether “we” are bringing them freedom and whether their freedom is really worth the sacrifice of so many of our men and women.

And how did we get so comfy?
Because men in the last century killed bad guys in other parts of the world.
The Japanese did not want us in Japan.
Germans did not want us in Germany.
And yet - we still have troops stationed in those countries today - because some countries don't know how to get along well with others.
So as you sit in your comfy chair, try watching the History Channel - and give thanks to our veterans.
